You'll Never

Music and Lyrics by Casey Rochefort

You'll never feel the sorrow
For the pain I'll feel tomorrow
I know what's in store for me
And you'll never hear my plea
For the chance to make amends
Means justify my ends
You'll never clear the shame
You're attaching to your name

(And you'll never) Feel the same
(And you'll never) Play the game
(And you'll never) See the truth
That's beginning to kill you
And you'll never realize
(And you'll never) See my eyes
(And you'll never) Laugh again
And you'll never see the end!

And you'll never walk through fire
Cause you let me be your shield
What hasn't killed me made me stronger
I am coming back for you
Tell you what I'm gonna do
Just what you did back then
And you'll never breathe... again

You'll never see it come
Cause I rise before the sun
I know what's in store for you
Gonna see your face turn blue
These hands'll do the crime
I've already done my time
Days we spent together were
My own mental massacre

(And you'll never) Be my friend
(And you'll never) Love again
(And I'll never) Hear your lies
In between your painful cries
(And you'll never) Gain respect
(And you'll never) Have an affect
On my tortured life again
And I'll never see the end!
Oh and you'll never realize
(And you'll never) See my eyes
(You'll always do it again)
Unless you never breathe again

This song was actually written in June of 2002 on the old ModPlug Tracker. Sound quality basically didn't exist with that program and the vocals were difficult to put in. I burned the song, plugged it into my karaoke-capable stereo and recorded the main vocals, then used my home audio CD burner to burn the master tape to CD and went back to make a tape of the backing vocals, burned that and there it was. By this time it really sounded like shit.

So of course I rewrote it and altered the lyrics a little to fit my then current situation. It was originally written about an ex-girlfriend... so converting it to ex-wife format was easy.

The unique rythym of this song made it flow almost as an angry, psychotic, white-boy rap. My vision while writing it was that the whisper was like a person's conscience, beating them down for what they did...
You could even say this song is schizophrenic in that manner.
